Get Rec'd: Be Well's Official Guide 2.0!

On August 21, from 5-7 p.m., thousands of Auburn students will GET REC'd!

With dozens of exciting games and activities, local vendors, and tons of prizes, it’s the best thing you’ll do on the second day of class. If you haven’t attended Get Rec’d before, this exclusive Be Well guide provides everything you need to know, what to expect, and how to make the most of this AUsome event.

Details

The event kicks off at 5 p.m. at the Recreation and Wellness Center. Once past the turnstiles inside, students will receive cards for the Get Rec’d scavenger hunt. Each card contains a select list of Get Rec’d sponsors. When you visit the sponsor tables on courts 1-6, they’ll each stamp your card.

Collect 4 stamps and head to Prize Central (located between Courts 2 and 3) or collect 2 stamps and give us a follow @auburncampusrec to receive a free Get Rec’d t-shirt. Just present your stamp card, show us that you've followed, and get the shirt. Many sponsors will be handing out various freebies, coupons, and discounts at their tables, so don’t miss your chance to bag some swag!

Games and Contests

You'll find 15+ games and activities on the basketball courts. On court 4 you’ll find the War Eagle Warrior Challenge, an intense obstacle course sponsored by U.S. Air Force Special Ops. You’ll be competing against fellow students for the chance to win one of many grand prizes. We’ll also have a free photo booth, inflatable obstacle course, and our own inflatable version of Hungry Hippo. WEGL, Auburn’s student-operated radio station, will DJ the event, and our group fitness team will lead rowing/cycling challenges and maybe even break out into your favorite "Cupid Shuffle."

There will be multiple grand prize winners for each game.  In 2017, students won a Moe’s-styled guitar, free adventure trips, and dozens of gift cards from local businesses. This year, we’re giving away thousands of dollars of prizes, gift cards and premium merchandise, so don’t miss out!

A Taste of Auburn

Head to the MAC Gym for our Taste of Auburn experience, where local restaurants provide free samples of their best dishes, and 24 club sports teams will be there ready to answer any questions. They’ll also be competing in a contest for the best table layout, so make sure to vote!

You can find a complete list of restaurants here, but highlights include Freeze, Frutta Bowls, Moe's Southwest, Smoothie King, Chicken Salad Chick, Conecuh Sausage, The Bean, and more!

Free Play on our PGA Golf Simulator

On The Rec’s lower level, take advantage of free play in our state-of-the-art golf simulator. Take a break and hit the greens with your friends. Scale our climbing wall, and discover hidden golden tickets. Return them to Prize Central to claim one of four grand prizes.

Questions?

Talk to experts from competitive sports, group fitness, personal training, aquatics and Auburn Outdoors. They’ll be set up at several locations around the courts and will be more than happy to help.
