A Pumpkin Pie to Give a Try

A Pumpkin Pie to Give a Try

This pie is to die for! It is the perfect pie for Fall, served best with a warm cup of cider or hot chocolate!

It is a delicious recipe that is easy and quick. An overall crowd pleaser great to take to any event, and all of the ingredients can be found at your local grocery store. So give this pie a try and read the recipe below!

There are only eight simple ingredients to make this pie! You will need one can of pumpkin puree, one can of sweetened condensed milk, two large eggs, one teaspoon of ground cinnamon, half teaspoon of ground ginger, half teaspoon of ground nutmeg, half teaspoon of salt, and one nine-inch unbaked pie crust.

Let's start with preheating the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. To make mixing easier, set out all ingredients and measuring tools in front of you. Mix the wet ingredients first, so add pumpkin puree, sweetened condensed milk, and eggs in one bowl. In a smaller bowl, add the dry ingredients— cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt.

Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until smooth. Pour into crust and bake for 15 minutes at 425 Fahrenheit. Then reduce the oven temperature to 350 and bake until a knife inserted into the middle comes out clean. This takes about 30 to 40 minutes.

Pair your pie with anything you’d like! Ice cream or whipped cream is always a great choice, but you could spice it up try different toppings. If you like sweet, tangy, creamy, or crunchy there is a topping out there for you. Peanut crunch is the ultimate topping, and all you need to do is crush about one cup of peanut brittle with a rolling pin and sprinkle it over the pie before it is baked.

Another delightful topping is a crunchy pecan topping. Start with a small bowl and add one cup of chopped pecans, two-thirds cup of packed brown sugar, and three tablespoons of melted butter. Add this on top of the baked pie and broil for 2 minutes. Lastly, my favorite topping is the honey whipped cream. Just get about one tablespoon of honey and two cups of whipped cream and mix! It is simple and delicious.

This pie will bake your day so much better! I am not much of a baker, and this was as easy as pie, literally! While it is a simple recipe, you can make this pie your own way and get creative. Experiment and try new things! It might just be delicious.
