10 Must-Haves to Survive Auburn Game day

If you’ve ever been to an Auburn Football game, you know that it’s an all-day experience.

If you aren’t prepared, your game day experience could be less than stellar. Game days are marathons, and these 10 things will not only help you survive, but you'll look good doing it.

1. A Shaker

The Shaker is the classic weapon of any Auburn fan. Whether you’re the type to bring your own sacred shaker from the kick six, or just pick one up off the ground at the stadium, you can’t get through an Auburn football game without one. When we are playing well, your shaker serves as just the right instrument to cheer on your team and express your excited energy. Likewise, when we aren’t playing so well, the shaker serves as the object by which we can safely ventilate our anger.

2. Lip Balm

If there is one guarantee at any outdoor athletic event, it’s that your lips will get chapped. It’s just a terrible side effect of the “experience.” Because of this, you’re going to need some quality lip balm to keep your lips perfect through that long day outside.

3. Clear Bag

Like it or not, a rule is a rule. In order to get all of your much-needed supplies into the game, the plastic clear bag is an unfortunate must.

4. Cowboy Boots

If there is one look that both girls and guys can rock at an Auburn Football game, it’s cowboy boots. You just can’t go wrong with a good pair of Southern footwear.

5. Phone

If you have one thing from this list, it needs to be your phone. Since the introduction of a digital Tiger Card, Auburn Athletics mandated entrance to all sporting events via the mobile Tiger Card. You will not gain access into Jordan-Hare Stadium without your phone.

If you do not have your Tiger Card downloaded to your Apple Wallet, do that now. You are not able to scan the physical card at the gates.

6. Sunglasses

A great thing about Auburn is that, even as autumn goes on, the weather is typically fairly mild and sunny. Because of this, a good pair of sunglasses is crucial for a comfortable game day experience.

7. Portable Phone Charger

Everyone knows that in today’s world, you practically don’t exist if your phone is out of battery. You can’t be contacted, there is no access to social media, and there is no way to post that great Instagram photo of you and your friends living it up at the game. That’s where portable phone chargers come in. Perhaps one of the most vital accessories to a successful game day, portable chargers have become cheaper and better, and they are a must on game days.

8. Sunblock

Although autumn is upon us, it’s still in the 80°s constantly. Unless it’s a night game, you are in direct sunlight during most of the game when sitting in the student section. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a poor girl in a sleeveless dress or top at the game with one arm burned red and the other perfectly fine. Don’t be that girl. Bring sunblock.

9. Stash of Toilet Paper

Although you may not want to bring your toilet paper into the stadium, everyone knows that it is a must after winning a home game. Whether you stash you toilet paper somewhere between the stadium and Toomer’s Corner or plan on running back home to quickly grab some, carrying sufficient toilet paper is crucial for being a good Auburn fan.

10. Tiger Card

At some point, everyone has experienced the feeling of near starvation during a long football game. The good news? The stadium accepts your Tiger Card. Why starve when you can use your dining dollars and eat your fill of amazing stadium nachos? That is why bringing your Tiger Card to the game is essential in surviving.
