Caffeine Chronicles: Auburn’s Coffee Gems

Caffeine Chronicles: Auburn’s Coffee Gems

Whether you are a casual coffee drinker or a seasoned pro, there is something for everyone in the realm of Auburn’s coffee shops.

From cozy environments and a good book to meeting people from every walk of life— let’s find the perfect blend for you!

Coffee Cat

We start strong with an Auburn favorite, Coffee Cat. Nestled on one of the quieter streets of Downtown Auburn at 214 Tichenor Avenue. Coffee Cat has a vibrant atmosphere with locally sourced products. A staple since 2014, this place has been the cat’s meow for quite some time now. The Auburn community comes here for a comfy environment, intentional service, and delicious and uniquely named drinks. Not to mention a great place to grab sweet, bohemian-style gifts for a special friend in your life!

The Ross House

Located on 150 N Ross St., The Ross House proudly holds the title “Best Coffee Shop in Auburn.” Known for its amazing outdoor seating, good coffee, and rich 111-year-old history, Ross House encourages quiet studying and close-knit conversations in one of the many rooms in this delightful green house. If you happen to visit, be sure to greet Ross, the official mascot of the shop— a charming cat with green eyes and distinctive spots.

Thrive

One of Auburn’s newest additions to the caffeine scene is Thrive. This coffee shop is located underneath The Laurel Hotel and Spa and beside Hey Day Market. They have various options, from traditional coffees made with beans they grind in-house, to breakfasts, desserts, teas, and more. If you want a shop with the best view of Auburn, Thrive is your place to go! Both Samford Lawn and Toomer’s Corner are just minutes away.

Well Red

Up next on our journey to fuel our rampant caffeine addictions is Well Red, the three-year-old jack-of-all-trades shop located off Opelika Road. An intimate café that offers a thoughtfully curated collection of books and seamlessly transitions into an evening wine bar, Well Red values settling down with a good book and a good beverage. They have a fantastic atmosphere both inside and out, perfect for a sunny study day or a tranquil date night.

Bitty and Beau’s

Last but certainly not least, Bitty and Beau’s is near and dear to Auburn’s heart. Situated on the backside of Downtown Auburn next to Auburn Bank, Bitty and Beau’s is more than just a cup of coffee. They call themselves a “human rights movement disguised as a coffee shop.” Advocating for the value, acceptance, and inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Bitty and Beau’s hires men and women living with disabilities to work and grow within their community. Auburn has been blessed by its introduction into our lovely city, and we have witnessed its profound impact on countless individuals! If you want to support a socially conscious business, this coffee shop has an inviting atmosphere with friendly staff, complete with a great cup of coffee.

If you are craving coffee in the fair city of Auburn, look no further. Each of these options provides exceptional environments, delicious drinks, and fabulous friendships— as well as providing a true representation of Auburn’s small-town charm.

Be well, Auburn.

Born and raised in Roswell, GA, Grace grew up with a UGA Bulldawg and an FSU Seminole as parents. Clearly, it caused quite a shock when she decided on Auburn. Almost four years later, neither parent will commit to Auburn orange, but they have gotten on board with the decision, considering how happy their daughter is at her school. Now a senior, Grace is studying Communications and Marketing, with a minor in Journalism, and is hoping to make her way into the Marketing world, ideally in the music industry.

When she is not involved in extracurriculars, work, or school, Grace can be found thrifting, searching for new vinyl shops, working out, or enjoying a great book. Her favorite things include her dogs, live music, sushi, and a great fall day. For her last year at Auburn, Grace has hopes for incredible moments of laughter and learning, with old friends and new ones, as she soaks in every possible moment that makes Auburn home.
