Appetizers to Spice Up Your New Year's Eve Party

Appetizers can make or break any get-together.

The stakes are higher on the last night of the year than the other 364. Whether you’re celebrating at home with family and friends or dancing the night away at a party, there’s always room for food. Not sure what to make? Don’t worry, we’ve got you. Here are the only NYE recipes you’ll ever need.

Crispy Parmesan Roasted Artichoke Hearts

Ingredients: 

  • 9 artichoke hearts cut in half, drained, and pat dry

  • 1/4 c. flour

  • Kosher salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1/2 c. parmesan, grated

  • 1/2 c. panko breadcrumbs

  • Caesar dressing for dipping

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, season flour with salt and pepper. Toss in artichokes until well-coated.

  3. In small bowl, add beaten eggs. In another small bowl, mix together salt, pepper, parmesan, and panko. Dredge first in eggs, then in parmesan/panko mixture.

  4. Roast artichokes 15-18 minutes, or until crispy and golden. Serve with Caesar dressing.

Melty Mozzarella Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil

  • 2 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced

  • 32 oz. marinara

  • 1 lb. fresh mozzarella

  • 2 tbsp. basil, plus more for serving

  • Pinch of red pepper flakes

  • Kosher salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 baguette, sliced and toasted

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.

  2. Heat olive oil in a medium ovenproof skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until golden, about 3-5 minutes. Add the marinara sauce. Stir in basil, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Bring to simmer then remove from heat.

  3. Add the mozzarella to the center of the dish and transfer to the oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melty. Sprinkle pepper over the mozzarella and garnish the skillet with more basil. Serve warm with toasted bread.

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus          

Ingredients: 

  • 3/4 lb. prosciutto

  • 1 lb. asparagus

  • 1 tbsp. olive oil

Directions: 

  1. Cut off the ends of the asparagus spears.

  2. Wrap a slice of prosciutto tightly around an asparagus spear from bottom to tip. Repeat with all spears.

  3. Coat the bottom of a large nonstick skillet with olive oil.

  4. Cook spears on all sides until prosciutto is slightly browned and crisp, 2-3 minutes.
