Want to Spend More Time Outside? Check Out the Davis Arboretum.

If you’re anything like me, finding time to spend outdoors is hard.

Aside from walking to class, I don’t spend much time in nature. I have found that spending time in nature can be calming, and is a great way to reflect while getting a little daily exercise. I just recently began utilizing the Davis Arboretum, and I’m here to tell you all the reasons why it has become my favorite nature spot.

It’s on campus.

As an Auburn student, it’s great that the Davis Arboretum is right on campus. The Arboretum offers 13.5 acres of botanic garden facilities, supported by the College of Sciences and Mathematics.

You can go to the Arboretum whenever you like.

Want to get in a morning nature walk before you start your day? What about when your day is winding down? Luckily, the Davis Arboretum is open every day of the year from sunrise to sunset.

The Arboretum’s core values align with those of Auburn University.

Not only is the Arboretum a great place to spend more time in nature, it has some pretty great core values. According to its website, “the primary mission of the Davis Arboretum is: to display and preserve living plant collections and native southeastern plant communities; to inspire an understanding of the natural world and our connection to it; and to promote education, research, conservation, and outreach.”

The next time you’re looking to get out and spend more time appreciating nature and the world around you, I suggest making a trip to the Davis Arboretum. With all of its amazing benefits, you’ll leave feeling more relaxed and in-tune with nature.

Be well, Auburn.
