Love And Laughter: Ideas To Celebrate Valentine’s with The Gals

Love And Laughter: Ideas To Celebrate Valentine’s with The Gals

Why stress about finding a valentine when you have your galentines?

No matter what your relationship status is, celebrating friendships is always fun! Here are some ideas for your next Galentine’s gathering.

Purely Pampered

Pamper yourself with a spa day! Dedicate your Galentine’s Day to some simple self-care with your besties. Discuss with your friends their favorite ways to relax and incorporate them into the spa day. Encourage your friends to wear their comfiest clothes, or buy matching pajamas like the ones linked here. Some ideas could be making cucumber water, playing tranquil spa music, and lighting some candles to embrace the spa spirit. Self-care is essential, so why not enjoy doing it with your best friends?

PowHERpoint Night

A PowerPoint night is always a fun time. If you have never heard of this, it is a night where everyone makes a PowerPoint with a chosen topic and presents.

Some of my favorite ideas include:

  • Guessing the last person each of your friends texted

  • Predicting everyone's future love life

  • Each friend's red, green, and beige flags

  • You and your friend's alter egos and why

  • A brief history of you and your friends’ love lives (the messier, the funnier)

  • Your friends as movie characters

  • Which American Girl doll your friends would be

These are just a few suggestions, so talk to your friends and let them come up with some fun ideas of their own! Since it is Galentine’s, love-themed PowerPoints are encouraged. After everyone presents, a cute way to celebrate would be a friend group trivia PowerPoint.

“Spread” the Love

There is no better way to say “I love you” than with food. A potluck is perfect for celebrating Galentine’s Day! Coordinate a time with your friends and invite them to bring different dishes to your apartment. A fun way to add a theme to this is to ask everyone to wear red, pink, or purple, and have accessories at the event. Whether it's temporary tattoo hearts or red beaded necklaces, look at Party City for Valentine's decorations that will make the night extra festive. If you are hosting, just remember to have plenty of utensils, plates, and napkins- bonus points if they are all love-themed. Most importantly, remember to savor the food and time spent with your besties. Here are some Valentine’s-inspired food recipes:

Lens of Love

Picture this… a Valentine's 's-themed photoshoot with your best friends! Start by dedicating a space to take pictures and decorating it with all things Valentine's. You and your friends could paint a backdrop together or find wall hangings to put up. Invite your galentines over beforehand to get ready together and have costumes for the pictures. I did this last Galentine’s and bought heart-shaped makeup tools, red and pink eyeshadows, and lipsticks. I asked my friends to bring their red and pink outfits, and we traded them around for our pictures. They also brought cute accessories to wear, like heart headbands, glasses, pink tutus, and more. A fun touch could be disposable cameras. Have a picture-perfect celebration this Galentine’s with a photoshoot.

Lovebugs

Don’t let Galentine’s fool you, it’s not just for face masks and sad movies! Take a trip outside and consider taking a hot girl hike at Chewacla with your friends. Ask everyone to bring some shareable snacks and have a picnic along your hike. Be sure to keep an eye on the weather, and if it's too cold, consider climbing at the rock wall together. No matter the temperature, nothing beats the warmth our friendships bring.

No matter which idea you choose, the most important thing is to have fun and cherish this time with your best friends! An excuse to celebrate your friendships should never be missed.

With Love,
