Five Gorgeous Auburn Backdrops to Boost Your Insta Game

Interested in stepping up your Insta game? Check out these five locations for perfect Auburn backdrops.

In the age of social media, moments are captured in perfectly filtered snapshots ready to be shared with our friends online. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but Instagram has changed the way we value our own photos, now basing their worth on “likes." As social media celebrities are on the rise, the pressure to get the perfect shot for your own profile is increasing for those truly dedicated to the ‘Gram. Sure, you can post whatever you’d like to on your own social media. But if you really want to step up your Instagram game, try visiting these places around Auburn. They'll give you beautiful backdrops for your best posts.

Samford Hall

Every Auburn student has a photo in front of Samford Hall. It’s a staple. It’s tradition. It’s basically a requirement to graduate. Not only is Samford the most iconic building on Auburn’s campus, it’s also one of the most beautiful places in Auburn. Set up your ENO out front for a picture that says, “I’m adventurous, but totally chill.” Want something even better? Head downtown first, grab a glass of Toomer’s lemonade, and snap a not-so-candid picture that says, “I’m so totally Auburn right now.” Or make an afternoon out of it by packing a picnic to enjoy on Samford Lawn with your friends, and capture memories that will last even longer, thanks to the amazing photos you’ll get.

War Eagle Wall

Any true Instagram snob knows that wall murals are Insta-GOLD. This mural is located directly across from Samford Hall and has long been a tradition for Auburn students and fans alike. The “War Eagle Wall” is attached to the original J&M Bookstore on College Street, right in the heart of downtown Auburn. Stop inside J&M and grab some Auburn gear or a shaker to make your photo even more AUsome.

Chewacla State Park

Chewacla is home to some of the most beautiful views in Alabama. Many Auburn students enjoy hiking Chewacla's sprawling trails and setting up their ENOs off the beaten path. With a man-made waterfall pouring into an ever-flowing creek near beautiful discovery trails, there’s plenty of opportunities for an epic #nature pic.

The Red Barn

The Red Barn at Ag Heritage Park is another Auburn staple and is located on Donahue Drive. Whether you’re there to get a photo with the iconic barn or the beautiful lake next to it, this is the perfect place to capture Auburn’s beautiful orange and blue sunsets. Have an animal friend? Bring them along to roam the open field out by the lake and snap a picture of them for your Instagram, or for the account that you run for them.

Downtown Opelika Historic District

Downtown Opelika is full of the historic charm that Instagram junkies live for. If you’re into “posed-candid” pictures in front of really cool walls, the beautiful, rustic buildings of the Historic District are perfect for you. With a beautiful fountain downtown and railroad tracks near the town center, this quaint side of town has plenty of backdrops for your artsiest Instagrams.
